United Leaders of CUNY (ULC) is a student based organization specifically led and run by students of the Percy Ellis Sutton Search for Education, Elevation and Knowledge (SEEK) and College Discovery (CD) programs. Our purpose is to encourage the pursuit for knowledge and action towards raising awareness of the opportunities and support available to students as we aim to increase career and personal development of our members. To this end, ULC represents and advocates for students’ rights and believes that together we can overcome the adversities that may come our way.
To further our mission, there are four objectives which we aim to achieve.
First, ULC will focus on strengthening the organization. ULC officers will work cooperatively with the Office of Special Programs and the Office of Student Development to develop, implement, administer, and assess ULC’s projects. Secondly, ULC will work on raising awareness of the opportunities and support services available to students. ULC will work to enhance the communication between our colleges. ULC will establish and regularly update information in all forms of media to create prominence. Along with the media, ULC will increase a presence at each campus to promote the organization. Thirdly, ULC aims to increase career and personal development of SEEK/CD students. ULC will create networking opportunities to enhance the relationship between SEEK and CD students in order to develop a supportive unit. Finally, ULC will assist the program in maintaining the level of resources at both individual colleges and the university by advocating to various political and institutional structure. ULC will organize SEEK/CD leaders in order to influence public policy and resource allocation decisions impacting our programs.
